Overview

If you are a parent looking for an opportunity for your child to be a member of a competitive robotics team you're on the right track!

A few general notes...

  • Note: Avondale High School (9th-12th grade) students should jump to the AHS section for information on the JV and Varsity AHS RoboJackets Programs
  • VEX IQ, VEX EDR, and OCCRA Teams are open to Avondale and Non-Avondale students alike (other public schools, charter, private, homeschool, etc.) with no particular restrictions.
  • All team members in all programs must agree to abide by expectations for attitude & behavior
  • Registration for the 2016-2017 season will close on September 24, 2016, or whenever all sections are at capacity (whichever occurs first)
VEX IQ Team (3rd-8th grade)

2017-2017 NRGYF VEX IQ Events

All NRGYF teams will compete in at least two official qualifying events, and most will compete three times. If qualified (based on performance at qualifying events), teams may also choose to compete at the VEX IQ Michigan State Championship event.  The information below is for events hosted by NRGYF, including our teams as well as teams from neighboring communities and a few from around the state.  The information for all events in michigan can be found at RobotEvents using the map search tool.  NRGYF qualifying events are as follows...

Avondale High School (9th-12th grade) Exclusive

NRGYF is proud to be the operational partner for the Avondale RoboJackets.  For the 2016-2017 school year we will be debuting a new program progression that will include the existing Varsity/FRC team program and introduce a new JV team option.

Eligibility & Joining the RoboJackets

  • All Avondale High schools students (9th-12th grade) are eligible to join.
  • All team members, both Varsity/FRC and JV level, will be expected to abide by expectations for participation, attitude & behavior, and academic achievement.
  • Veteran Varsity/FRC team members (those that completed the previous season in good standing) will be extended an invitation to retain their position as a team member
  • Rookie team members will have the option to join the team in one of two major categories a) a JV team member or B) a prospective FRC team member.

Note: Registration and payment are handled separately. Registration is completed using the form below. This gives us the information we need to get tentative headcounts and start grouping individuals into teams. Payment for VEX IQ teams will be managed with paypal invoicing after team groups have been solidified.
